This delightful deck of playing cards has a different picture of the Beatles on each card. Fans of all ages will enjoy playing with a Beatles’ deck and people just coming into the Beatles will be introduced in a delightful manner. These cards are a big hit!

This deck of The Beatles playing cards was a retirement gift I received last spring. The cards are printed in China, but licensed by Apple Corps Ltd. The cards themselves are very durable and are standard size–2.5″ x 3.5″.

There is no duplication of pictures on these cards except for the four pair of Beatle boots on the two jokers. Each ace has four individual portraits of the band (one set each from 1963, 1964, 1968 and 1970). Each of the face cards features a different album cover (no U.S.-only albums, so you get With the Beatles, not Meet the Beatles). The remaining cards feature various group photos (concert posters, movie stills, publicity shots). Most of these images will be very familiar to avid fans. Three-fourths of them are in color, and for the most part the contrast and sharpness is quite good.

If there is a downside, it’s that the rank and suit on each card is smaller than on most playing cards. However, the rank and suit is displayed in all four corners.

Overall, a nice gift for the Beatles fan in your life. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

As a Beatles fan and as a card player, disappointed, September 10, 2012

I bought these cards with the hope that it would add a little fun to card playing, but the characters and suits in the corners on the cards are on the smaller side and they are all you have since Beatles photos replace that information in the center of the cards. As for the Beatles photos themselves, anyone that follows them seriously as I do will find these unremarkable: their Parlophone/Apple album covers along with their most famous shots. I’d wished that they would find more unique pictures from the hundreds of thousands that exist.

I won’t cry baby cry over dropping six bucks on this product, but the cards will probably sit on the shelf for the most part.
